감사해요. 이 학생으로 마지막이예요.

The Awakening: In the fantasy world of Kkyurg, the humans live peacefully except for what they called the Binya’s Curse, where young people must find a mate at a certain time in order to survive. Legend has it that the Binya, the mysterious beings found in the deep jungle of the Gakr, cursed the humans as a form of punishment for refusing their guidance centuries before. These spirit-like creatures were once respected and lived among the humans. But over time, the humans grew fearful and arrogant and demanded separation from them. As a result of this, the Binya placed a curse upon the humans to control the human population. To avoid the extinction of their people, the humans abide by this curse for generations after. Until Roxna, an adventurous and headstrong young woman, decides to take the curse into her own hands. She finds a way to reconnect with the Binya and in the process discover truths that will stop the curse and shake the very existence of her world.

지난번 학생보다는 조금 준비가 덜 된 느낌이 있지만 또 다른 매력이 작업에 있어요.

About the project
"The Goblin Market" is a fantasy anthology tied together by a magical market and a young human girl living in it. The market itself is a trading place where all kinds of things can be found. It is set on the edge of another world that is often connected to our own. It is a place in-between the world and the afterlife, with a constant traffic of souls being escorted thought the market. The goblins, as they call themselves,  are creatures whit many different shapes and looks, from talking animals to ghosts who refused to leave the market and everything in between . They  barter all kinds of items to all kinds of costumers, including humans who wander in and out without even realizing that, for a little bit, they were not in their own world.
 Bry, the girl,  entered the market as merchandise when her mother traded her as part of a deal whit Sr. Tlacuache. She may have found herself made into a sandwich but one of the goblins, Bogul, decided to keep her. He is a former forest god who retired to the market after all the people who believed in him died out and his forest was no more.   He "adopted"  her out of feeling nostalgic and because he missed human company and faith. Eventually he grew fond of her. Bry grew up in the market helping her "father" with the shop (He trades mostly used books  and herbal mix tea). She has befriended some other goblins, and also learned which ones to avoid.

오랜만입니다~~

반갑습니다~
사는게 바쁘다보니 들어와 봐야지 생각만하면서 1년이 훌쩍 넘은거 같네요.

그동안 모두들 열심히 작업하시고,  직,간접적으로  멋진 성과들이 있으셨던거 같아서 보기 좋아요.  밀린 그림들 찬찬히 구경하려면 며칠은 걸려야 할듯합니다^^

그리고  열심히 해야겠다는 긍정의 기운도 한 보따리 얻어갑니다.
모두들 감사요~


ps. 사진은 서울숲공원서 찍은 꽃나무인데 서울의 봄을 조금 느끼시라고 첨부함다.
제가 꽃나무엔 문외한이라 벚꽂을 확대복사한거 같은 모양새인데 뭔진 잘 모르겠네요^^

If you can hug

좋은 소식이 있어요.어느 출판사에서 제 if you can , 이야기에 관심을 보여주었어요. 문제는, 그림이 맘에 쏙 안든다고 합니다.   

 1. 위에는 제가 예전에 그린 그림인데, 너무 뻣뻣하다고 합니다. 허그하는게 아니라, 그냥 서있는거 같데요.  

 2.그래서부드럽게 그려달라고 해서, 다음과 같이 그려봤어요. 이야기의 하일라이트이기 때문에 이그림이 맘에 들어야 한데요.   너무 좋은기회이긴한데, 산넘어 산이구나... 이런 느낌이 들어요. 오리지날 그림의 화려한 색상은 맘에 드는데, 그림 스타일이 쏙 맘에 안든다고, 3가지 스타일로 그려서 보내 보라고 ㅎ네요.


궁금하시겠지만, 자세한 이야기는 나중에 좀 진행되면 ! 컨트렉에 도장 찍으면 알려 드릴께요. 지금으로서는, 그림때문에 콘트랙까지 안갈거 같아요.
밑에 그리긴 했는데, 또 어떤 스타일로 그릴까? 고민이에요....조언 감사드려요.

뉴베리 상을 탄 그레이스 린의 톡인데요. 너무 공감이 가네요. 특히나 한국에 있을땐 몰랐는데, 외국에 나오니까, 공감이 더 가는거 같아요. 아이들에게 좋은 책, 다양한 책이 얼마나 중요한가, 그리고 아시안으로서, 아티스트로서 어떤 마음으로 작업할것인가.. 느끼게 해주네요.
